Professional and community background
A piano and music theory teacher with more than 24 years of experience, Phyllis completed graduate-level ethnomusicology studies at UBC and in Toronto. She currently serves as treasurer of the Richmond Rotaract Club and as an ARCA director, and has participated in more than 18 election campaigns. Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, she advocates for music education, financial literacy, mental health and drug awareness, and anti-bullying initiatives.
