On February 19, 2024, Richmond residents gathered near City Hall and Minoru Park for the “No Drugs in Richmond” Family Day rally. Families, including parents with children, called for a safe and clean city as officials considered a supervised consumption site in the community.
The rally was organized by residents rather than a political party or large institution. People from many backgrounds joined together, making it one of Richmond’s largest resident-led gatherings and showing the depth of public concern.
Participants emphasized that helping people in need must go together with transparent, accountable policy and meaningful consultation before major community decisions. For ARCA, the rally became an important starting point for continued civic participation and advocacy.
